The Vision
The Shop Inclusive app was developed by Audacity Institute to support their vision of building thriving, inclusive local economies.

The Goal
The goal is to provide a tool to enable shoppers to identify and support small business owners from communities they care about.

Shop Inclusive reflects the diversity of small business owners and entrepreneurs in our economy. When businesses join Shop Inclusive, they have the option of identifying up to four business owner types. This enables shoppers to identify and support small business owners from communities they care about.

These business owner types are self-identified and selected. Shop Inclusive does not require certification that anyone belongs to a particular community. We listen to our small business owners and will add new business owner types to the list of options.

Currently, Shop Inclusive has business owner types for the following underserved communities:

Black -owned
Indigenous/Native -owned
Immigrant -owned
Latino -owned
LGBT+ -owned
Minority -owned
Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander -owned
Person with Disabilities -owned
Refugee -owned
Rural -owned
